Torumund Borgin
Also: General Torumund Borgin · Captain Torumund Borgin
Spellings recorded in sources: Tormund Borgin · General Tormund Borgin
A Lieutenant at The Destruction of Chickenheim, assigned the highest Rump Factor in 500 CP, later General over Earth Ops and many other programs; led The Fall of Neith aboard the RF-9 and summoned Chæmbo.
Torumund Borgin rose through the ranks of the Rumpish military over nearly two thousand years. He was trained the old way, before the Council's 999-year course existed, and learned his trade as much in war as in drill. A Lieutenant at The Destruction of Chickenheim in 0 CP, he was assigned RF-9, the highest Rump Factor, when the Hassimir Council was established in 500 CP, and rose from Captain to Commander and finally to General. As General he oversaw many military programs, Earth Ops among them, and in 1777 AD he led the Rumpish forces in The Fall of Neith.
Chickenheim§
At The Destruction of Chickenheim Borgin was a Lieutenant under Commander Felix Don Grompulous, with charge of the surveillance teams of Chickenheim Ops, called Death Watch, the operation that watched Chickenheim as Earth Ops now watches Earth. His teams had watched through the long stalemate of the war that Chæmbo, The Barbarian, had begun there on his own. When the Rumpish forces at last engaged to finish it, Borgin went into the ground fighting himself, and there he earned his stripes. Reporting to him was Lieutenant Gorginmeijer Borgleaus, then a Petty Officer, who was instrumental in the assault.
Chæmbo was fighting on the ground as well. When a Chicken arrow was loosed at him, Borgin took the arrow in his place.
Rank and Rump Factor§
When the Hassimir Council was established in 500 CP and began to rank the Rumps by military merit, Borgin was assigned a Rump Factor of 9, the highest; his vessel, the RF-9, is named for it. As a Captain he had Arch Duke Quillis Cromwell slaughtered and served to the Council. As a Commander he oversaw a single planetary assault or surveillance program at a time, though none is recorded by name. As a General he oversaw many, Earth Ops among them, which he later passed to Borgleaus in 1957 AD.
Quillis Cromwell§
Arch Duke Quillis Cromwell was later slaughtered and served (deep fried in Corn oil with red wine) to the Hassimir Council by Captain Torumund Borgin (Now General).
The Fall of Neith§
General Torumund Borgin led the Rumpish forces in The Fall of Neith aboard his massive vessel, the RF-9, aptly named after his top tier Rump Factor, with Lieutenant Gorginmeijer Borgleaus, who had served under him at Chickenheim, reporting directly to him. When the laser barrage from the Sobek Mountains did major damage to the RF-9, he withdrew to Titan to repair his vessel, take stock, and regroup, and the Chickens believed themselves victorious.
However, unbeknownst to the Chickens, General Torumund Borgin sought the aid of an ancient and powerful force… He summoned Chæmbo, The Barbarian, whose ship captured Neith. The arrow he had taken for Chæmbo at Chickenheim was part of what emboldened him to ask; Chæmbo, for his part, relished the request. It was a last resort, and it cost the Rumps their prize. For centuries they had kept Neith's location from Chæmbo, meaning to claim the moon for their own; in giving it to him, Borgin traded the moon for the war, and Neith vanished into the Neith-Taker's jaw.
