“The Young Rump”: instrumental, under Lieutenant Torumund Borgin, in the assault on Chickenheim; a Lieutenant in The Fall of Neith; and since 1957 AD Premier Commander of Earth Ops.
Lieutenant Gorginmeijer Borgleaus, often called "The Young Rump", is the current Premier Commander of Earth Ops, a post he has held since 1957 AD. The name is relative: he is not young, only a good deal younger than most of the notable Rumps.
Premier Commander, sometimes styled Operator-in-Chief, is a post rather than a rank. Borgleaus holds it as a Lieutenant, unusually junior for so senior a charge, which is part of why the name has stuck. He came up the old way and faster than most, a Petty Officer sent straight into battle at Chickenheim, without the long schooling of the officers around him.
The assault on Chickenheim§
The assault on Chickenheim, The Destruction of Chickenheim of 0 CP, is the deed he is best known for. A Petty Officer at the time, he reported to General Torumund Borgin, then a Lieutenant and well senior to him, and he was instrumental in the assault. Above them both stood Commander Felix Don Grompulous, "Felix the Ferocious", who commanded it.
The Fall of Neith§
Nearly nineteen centuries later, Borgleaus was called upon again, in The Fall of Neith (The Siege of Neith) of 1777 AD. He served as a Lieutenant, reporting directly to General Torumund Borgin once more.
Earth Ops§
In 1957 AD General Torumund Borgin, who had overseen Earth Ops among his many programs, passed it to Borgleaus. Since then Borgleaus has been its Premier Commander, or Operator-in-Chief, with charge of the Rumpish watch over Luna and Earth itself.
Zanzibar's honorary Rump Factor§
Borgleaus once gave Professor Zanzibar an honorary Rump Factor, and was called before the Hassimir Council and reprimanded for it.
