Earth Ops

The Rumpish operation overseeing Luna and Earth itself; overseen by General Torumund Borgin, and led since 1957 AD by Premier Commander Gorginmeijer Borgleaus.
Earth Ops, short for Earth Operations, is the Rumpish operation that oversees Luna and Earth itself. Its vessels hold low Earth orbit, and keep a watchful eye on the world below. What they watch for, above all, is the Cheeknomicron: it is rumored to be somewhere on Earth still, and the rumor has never let the watch lapse.
Most major planetary and moon systems have such an operation of their own. Chickenheim Ops, called Death Watch, kept watch on Chickenheim for years before its destruction, and nearer at hand Venus Ops kept watch on Venus and its moon Neith.
Earth Ops was long one of the many programs under General Torumund Borgin, and was in his charge at the time of The Fall of Neith in 1777 AD. In 1957 AD he passed it to Lieutenant Gorginmeijer Borgleaus, "The Young Rump", who has held it since.
Its head holds the post of Premier Commander, also styled Operator-in-Chief: a post rather than a rank, which Borgleaus holds as a Lieutenant.
