The Neith-Taker is the ship of Chæmbo, The Barbarian. During The Fall of Neith in 1777 AD (1898 CP), it captured Neith, the entire moon. It was given its name afterwards.

Chæmbo developed the ship after The Fall of Chickendom, when the Chickens had scattered to moons across the known universe: a new kind of vessel, made to swallow entire moons. Word of it spread among the Rumps long before it was turned on Neith, and it was one reason they kept Neith's location from him. They meant to claim the moon for themselves, and they had heard what his ship could do.

Wherever it goes, it casts a shadow of its own, The Chæmbrolāmbra: a darkness vast enough to blot out a sun, with the ship hidden inside it. As it approached Neith, that shadow blotted out the Sun, and the ship itself could not yet be seen. It took the moon with many Chickens still on it.

The ship rests now in the Kitties’ Paw, and Neith within it. In John Herschel's poem of 1837 AD, Neith "vanished into the Neith-Taker's jaw" and "is said to rest in the Kitties’ Paw".
