The Kitties’ Paw
Also: Kitties’ Paw · Kitties' Paw
In the Milky Way; where the Neith-Taker rests, and Neith within it.
The Kitties’ Paw, in the Milky Way, is where the Neith-Taker, the ship of Chæmbo, The Barbarian, came to rest after The Fall of Neith, and with it Neith itself, swallowed whole, with the Chickens who did not flee still on it.
John Herschel's poem of 1837 AD on The Fall says as much: Neith "vanished into the Neith-Taker's jaw" and "is said to rest in the Kitties’ Paw". What the Kitties’ Paw itself is like is not recorded.
On Earth, a cloud of gas and stars in Scorpius bears almost the same name: the Cat’s Paw Nebula. John Herschel discovered it himself, from the Cape of Good Hope, on 7 June 1837 AD, the year of his poem.
