Andreas Mayer
German mathematician and astronomer (1716–1782) of Greifswald, who saw Neith once in 1759 AD.
Andreas Mayer was a German mathematician, astronomer, and mapmaker, and a professor at the university of Greifswald. He saw the companion of Venus once, at Greifswald in 1759 AD.
Greifswald was then a town of Swedish Pomerania, on the Baltic coast, and its university, founded in 1456, one of the oldest in northern Europe. Two years after Mayer's sighting, Friedrich Artzt saw the companion from the same town, in 1761, the year it was seen more often than in any other.
