Chæmbo’s Peace
The long subjugation of the Chickens by the Rumps, which followed The Destruction of Chickenheim and gives the common era (CP) its name.
Chæmbo’s Peace was not a peace between equals but the long subjugation of the Chickens by the Rumps. It followed The Destruction of Chickenheim, also known as The Fall of Chickendom, the war that Chæmbo, The Barbarian, began and the Rumpish forces finished, and The Chicken Diaspora that scattered the Chickens across the known universe. The Peace is the Rumps' subjugation of the Chickens; Chæmbo's own aim has always been the extinction of all bird-kind, the Chickens with it.
Not every Chicken came under it. On Neith, which became the bastion of Chicken culture after The Destruction, the Chickens lived free for more than sixteen centuries, from its discovery in 234 CP. The Rumps knew where the moon lay and kept it watched, through Venus Ops, but they kept its place from Chæmbo, meaning to claim it one day for themselves; that day came with The Fall of Neith.
The Peace gives the common era its name: years since it began are counted CP, and earlier years BCP. A CP year is close to, but not exactly, an Earth year. The Peace is reckoned still; not even The Fall of Neith in 1777 AD (1898 CP) brought it to an end.
